| “Shadas” is closely linked to the Maldives, with her unique design, mix of traditional and innovative methods, she hold her own historic fascination. Built at the beginning of the 1980’s, Shadas was a private boat created by one mans love for his wife, only later becoming this now well known tourist cruiser. The Shadas matrix was designed and made by a local carpenter and construction was completed using traditional island skills and materials (mostly coconut tree) creating this unique cruiser. The basic concept is the same as the “dhoani”, with particular added attention reserved to top navigational security and relaxing living space for your comfort. This once private cruiser used by family and friends is now perfect to discover the many secretes of the 26 atolls, with a knowledgeable crew steering you to the less well known and populated areas. Today more than ever Shadas stays true to the original concepts with only small additions and improvements to make your stay even more restful, but without changing the spirit and tradition which makes her famous. |
